Thirstystone sandstone is quarried in the Southwestern United States using the most environmentally conscious methods to extract hug sandstone boulders that are crafted into Thirstystone coasters. Our dedication to keeping our production green ensures that all areas are reforested in a manner that exceeds the EPA's minimum standards.    Making The Coasters.... The sandstone boulders are core drilled using a large bit that extracts approximately 120 round stone cores from each boulder. Every usable portion of the boulder is utilized, leaving the original stone resembling a honeycomb. Any leftover stone is crushed and sent to local landfills.    A Cut Above the Rest The sandstone cores are sliced into disks, then sent to the Sanding and Set Making Departments where the edges are sanded smooth and the stones are sorted into matching sets. No two sets of coasters exactly alike.    High Qaulity coasters - top quality artwork.... The coasters are transported to Thirstystone's production facility in Texas where the coasters are printed using printing technology developed by Thirstystone. Finsihed coaster sets are packaged, labeled, and shipped to you directly from our Texas facility.
